Meli Stamp

Bio:

Greetings! My name is Melinda “Meli” Stamp, and I am based in Portland, Maine, where I live with my family as my oldest prepares to embark on their next chapter.

I hold an Associate of Arts degree in Health and Human Services and bring over 20 years of experience in the Human Services field. My professional work has focused on supporting individuals within the ID/DD population, and I have contributed to state-level pilot programs as well as worked with school-aged children in both educational and recreational settings, including schools and camps.

In 2022, I completed CDI training and have continued to expand my knowledge and skills within the Deaf Interpreting profession. I am a recent graduate of the RDI Cohort 6 program and am currently a state-screened interpreter with MCDHH. Additionally, I serve as co-chair of the Maine Sign Language Interpreting Collective (MeSLIC), helping to support and strengthen the interpreting community in Maine.

I am actively engaged in the Deaf community through both statewide and national organizations, reflecting my commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and advocacy.

I value building meaningful connections with others—whether through shared experiences or simple moments like people-watching. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy listening to old-school music, which continues to inspire and energize me.
